Rescue Me ID: 18-04-15-00352Care Bear (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Care Bear is a sweet, loving dog who came to PAWS as an owner surrender when they were no longer able to care for her and her sister. She was heartworm positive, but has completed her treatment and now tests negative. However, she will need to be on mandatory HW prevention for the rest of her life. Her personality is best described as playful, friendly, independent, submissive, affectionate, and energetic, but she can also be laid back and a couch potato making her a great, easy-going dog. Care Bear aims to please! She wants to interact with anyone who's around. She loves to play with other animals and people, but her favorite ... (Read More)activity is to have her belly rubbed and be loved on. She's moderately active so she'll only need an average amount of daily exercise i.e. walking, hiking, ect. Care Bear travels well in a car and loves to sun bathe. Care Bear is being fostered with three other dogs and is very playful and friendly with all of them. We don't know how she is around cats, but considering her personality, would not foresee any problems with a proper introduction. She's also in a foster home with two small boys, 4 and 5, and she's very friendly and loving with them. Because of her size, she could knock over a small child out of excitement, so supervision with younger children is advised. Care Bear is housebroken, leash trained (still pulls a little), will go in a crate (but doesn't really like it), and knows basic commands. Care Bear would do well with a first time or experienced owner. She's used to being in a multi-pet household so we would recommend a canine companion or opportunities for her to play with other dogs on a regular basis. She would be the sweetest addition to a new family. She's a fun and energetic goofball who loves to snuggle and get smothered with love. Care Bear will return many times over the love any family gives her. Rescue Me ID: 18-03-22-00081Baby (female)

German Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Obese

Baby is a sweet, 9 YO, 100 lbs, girl who came to PAWS after her owner had to go live in a nursing home. She is looking for a new owner she can be devoted to, only like a German Shepherd can do. She is very well house trained and knows how to sit, shake hands, and speak on command. Baby is friendly to everyone, but will alert you to any strange noises. With her big bark and protective nature, you will never have to worry about anyone bothering you. Baby gets along with her foster canine male companions, but had always been the only dog so she would love to be your one and only. We do not know her compatibility with female ... (Read More)dogs. She's a couch potato and loves to lie in her space. She is overweight due to a thyroid issue in which she takes medication. The cost is inexpensive, but critical she be given regularly. She hadn't had her meds for a while so she is overweight, but is now losing the pounds. Baby would do best with an owner(s) experienced with the German Shepherd breed. She will be happiest living indoors with her family, but with access to a large, fenced yard or have plenty of opportunities to walk, hike, and play where she can burn off her natural energy to help her lose the weight. If you are looking for a best friend, but do not have time or know how to train a dog, she is the girl for you. If you're interested in adopting Baby, please go to our website to complete an online application at http://www.pawsrc.org/foster-adopt/ and email it back to us. (Less)
