Rescue Me ID: 18-02-07-00499Snoop Dog (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Snoop Dog is a super sweet, 1 YO, 60 lb, boy who came to PAWS as a stray. We advertised him for days, but no owner ever came forward. His personality is a great mixture of playful, friendly, and independent while at other times he can be shy and submissive, but he's definitely a couch potato and laid back. He's a little timid when meeting new people, so he'll be just out of petting range, but won't run away and warms up quickly as soon as he knows you'll be nice to him. His foster daddy has three of his own dogs, and Snoop is very playful and friendly with them. We don't know how he is with cats, but because he's a calm dog, we ... (Read More)believe he would be fine with cats and children. Snoop Dog is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and is calm and quiet when riding in a car. He is very content to just be 'home', and doesn't feel the need to wander off as he stays in the foster's yard off leash with him most times. Snoop is just a laid back dog who wants to cuddle with you on the couch where he sleeps primarily. He's never displayed any separation anxiety when his foster works up to eight hours a day. He has food left out all day and only eats when he's hungry. Snoop Dog would do well with a first time or experienced dog owner. Since his exercise needs are average, he would be fine in a fenced-in yard playing with his owner or canine companion and taking walks for his exercise. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 18-01-01-00343Zelda (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Zelda is a 2 YO (DOB 12-17-15), 50 lbs, sweet, loving girl whom PAWS pulled from Animal Control when she was surrendered by her owner who couldn't 'handle' her anymore. Her personality is playful, friendly, independent, affectionate, and energetic, and she does NOT jump up on people. She loves to play, run, and go for walks, but also loves to be loved on and lay on your lap so she has the perfect mixture of both qualities. She is super smart, eager to please, and picks up quickly on commands such as 'Come' and 'Stay', and is working on 'Sit'. She is really energetic at first, but she just gets excited to meet new people and will calm ... (Read More)down just fine. Because she is an active dog, she'll need daily walks and play/run time with her people or canine companions. She is somewhat vocal, but not considered a nuisance barker and likes chewing on her bones and treats. Zelda is being fostered with other dogs and is playful and friendly towards them and is friendly with or ignores the foster cats. She has not been around young children, but would be fine with them as long as there is appropriate parental supervision. She absolutely LOVES to ride in a car and is a super good co-pilot! Her fosters take her for walks off leash on their 25 acre mountain property and she stays right with them. If she happens to wander off, she'll come right back when called. She loves to run around the fenced-in yard with her foster canine siblings and really enjoys playing tug-a-war! She is house trained, and is confined to a laundry room at nighttime or when her fosters have to be away during the day. She doesn't display any separation anxiety and is fine being kept in there. Zelda is working on leash training, but still pulls so this is one area her new owner(s) would need to continue working with her on. Zelda would do best with an individual or family who like to get out and walk, hike, or run and/or have another canine companion(s) she can play with or where she would have regular interactions with other dogs. Zelda is a delightful dog who would be a great addition to any family. (Less)

Animal ID: Babs  (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Babs is a sweet, 2 YO, 40 lb dog who came to PAWS as one of 12 dogs from an older owner who was no longer able to care for her. It seems she was bullied by the other dogs so she hangs back from people and other animals until she gets to know them. She's an inside/outside dog who wants to please, but is a bit nervous right now. She'll come to you, but is cautious. Once she knows you're going to be good to her, she just melts. She has had no previous training, but is doing wonderfully in foster care with leash training on a harness. As far as house training, Babs will need to be given plenty of opportunities to potty outside in the ... (Read More)beginning until she learns the routine of her new family. We recommend Babs go to a home that's more quiet and calm with older children. She needs someone or a family who can help build up her confidence with gentle care. She doesn't like yelling, rambunctious activity, or loud noises and will cower until you reassure her everything is OK. With a little encouragement, continued training, and lots of love, Babs will blossom into an even more wonderful dog than she is now. (Less)
